One of the questions I am always asked is, “How do I make my room appear larger?” or, “What is the best way to brighten up a dark corner?” One of the simplest and most effective ways to create depth in a room is with mirrored surfaces.  And the days of mirrors just hanging on the wall is over-  mirrors are appearing everywhere this Fall in home design!

Think about mirrors in a whole new way – on armoires and tabletops, furniture legs and case goods. One of the best “tricks of the trade” in using mirrors and mirrored finishes best is to always be aware of what they reflect.  Do you have beautiful windows overlooking the ocean or a beautiful garden?  Consider putting something reflective opposite it to see that view from all angles.  Mirrored tabletops can create beautiful depth when the right tabletop accessories are placed on top, and mirrored legs on furniture can help to show off that fabulous new rug!

Try using different mirror finishes as well.  An antique mirror finish on an armoire in a bedroom will create a cozy, old world, romantic feel, whereas a traditional finish may lend a more contemporary feel.  Whatever your style, there is sure to be something out there that will be perfectly reflective!  Here are a few for inspiration!
