I just love summer and in New England you need to savor every day because it seems to get shorter every year. I love gold in the summer-  I even have a Kate Spade gold tote bag that I’ve had for about 10 years. I bring it out every summer and it always looks bright and cheery.  I find I swap out a lot of my home decor for gold at this time of year as well.  I love the glitz of a little metallic paired with coastal design to add a little “dressier” feel.  Works just perfectly with the glimmer of candles and the flames from the fire pit!  Here are a few things, big and small to dress up your summer home!!

No one makes a statement like Christopher Guy.  When I think gold and “swanky”, that’s where I head.  I LOVE this table.  The mahogany top and gold just looks so elegant!  Now if it’s just a small statement you want to make, try switching up your table linens with a runner or place mats woven with a little glimmer like this one from Anthropologie.  Add some pretty shell napkin rings, maybe a unique bowl like this one from Global Views, light a candle, and your summer table is ready to go!

Looking for a little glimmer and sparkle?  Kouboo has one of the nicest selection of affordable capiz shell chandeliers available.  Beautiful and just a little unique.  This one would just dazzle hanging in a long entry – maybe near a window where the light would add a little shine?

Mirrors have so many purposes, they can brighten a dark room just by opening it up, they can be used as wall art, or just bring some added dimension.  These mirrors would definitely brighten any dark spot in your house!

I love nesting tables but hate when then heights change and someone has the “short” one!  Yes, I believe nesting tables have a purpose and should be used not just lined up together.  This one from Kathy Kuo Home is the best of both (or 6!) worlds – all one height but when put together make a beautiful table.  And the travertine top is timeless!

Gold and bamboo and twigs just works.  Add a small one next to a chair or a coffee table size by your sofa to add a dash of gold.  Too big a statement?  Go for a lamp with a gilded base!  Or perhaps just add a set of gold stacking boxes like these from Studio A.

Dress up your dining room with a little gold on your walls and add a pretty comforter to your bed with a little summer shine and you’re ready to go!  I wish the sun would come out today so I can see a little shimmer and shine..until then I’ll just pretend.
