Greige: The Hottest New Color?

Okay, I am obsessed!  Never one for the monochromatic, but I’m now a convert.  Grey can be too cold, and beige too blah….but put the two together and you get….GREIGE!!  Greige is the one of the hottest colors in interiors right now, and judging from the response I’ve seen, it may be here to stay.

Whether you opt for the monochromatic room, or want a few key pieces that will stand the test of time, griege may be your answer.  It works well with both cool and warm palates, so it’s versatile.

 

 

 

 

Kravet has come out with some beautiful lines.  One of my favorites is the Jeffrey Alan Marks collection;  It mixes beautiful soft blues and greiges and works beautifully in a coastal setting.

 

 

Candice Olson collections have a little more formality as she incorporates an ever-so-slight sparkle into her fabrics.

 

 

We feature Bella Cottage A LOT in our blogs.  As you know, my daughter Jillian loves this shabby chic style, and I think she would decorate her whole house with Bella Cottage if she could! Everything is always so soft and romantic…what’s not to love!?

 

 

We spend a third of our lives “under the sheets”, so don’t skimp.  Using a neutral color means your bedding will last with your changing color schemes!  And simple bedding in a neutral color can go with just about any decor.

 

 

 

We’ve definitely hopped on the bandwagon of softly painted finishes.  Why go “off-white”?  Try Greige instead.

 

 

Our new painted finish crush includes the chalk paint look, too.  I am determined to take an Annie Sloan class (maybe I can talk Jillian into joining me!) and do a blog of furniture before and after.  This greige paint is gorgeous!!
