I just came back from Bermuda, one of my favorite places!  With its turquoise blue waters and laid back lifestyle (and less than 2 hours from Boston!), it’s the perfect getaway for those of us on the East coast.  My husband, Everett, and I took off for a long weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary.  We stayed at our favorite place, the Pompano Beach Club in Southampton Parish.  Brothers Larry and Tim Lamb are always visible and accessible owners of this once fishing village.  The beach is probably one of the most beautiful anywhere!  In low tide you can walk for miles in crystal blue waters.

Although my trip is over and I’m back in Boston, I’m still thinking about those beautiful Bermuda blues!  Here are some ideas that were inspired by the turquoise waters!

Simple yet elegant.  I just love this collection, orchids and all!

The chest in the corner by Wisteria reminds me of a chest in an old beachside inn- the color is a simple powder blue.  Paired with a neutral chair, an ottoman, and some great texture, and it takes on a whole different feel!

I hate it when a room looks “too decorated”.  I tell my clients that not everything has to come out of the same box-  it’s not supposed to look like a set.  I just love the casual tablecloth over the weathered wood and turqoise linen chair.  The bright navy stripes on the bench are just the “surprise” this room needs.

Yes, it’s simple and some would even say stark, but  I look at it as a beautiful canvas to add your own personal touches.  Perhaps a vintage dish for soap and a pottery vase?  Super fluffy white towels and a great rug, and the room would take on a whole different feel.

Just the little trim around these placemats and napkin rings from our friends at Kouboo (who we love! so please visit them at www.kouboo.com)  makes a simple white dish look not so simple after all!

Change with the seasons;  shells in the Summer, succulents in the Fall, some floating lilies in the spring, and colored glass balls in the winter?  This beautiful dish will change along with your whims.

Sometimes all it takes is to bring a little color up from the floor….

I LOVE this chandelier.  It’s a statement piece, so just add minimally and let the design and color do their job.

I love my Bermuda Blues and hope you do too.  I want to hold onto these blues since the winter blues are right around the corner!
