Meet Our Designers

Susan Hayward

Boston and Cape Cod Interior Design - Susan Hayward

Getting into Interior Design, I took the long way around. As a graduate of Boston University I started working in the public relations and development field for many years on the national level. After my son was born, I decided enough is enough with all the traveling. I quit my job, and my husband, Everett, and I started a photography business in the basement of our home. I loved every minute of starting that business, but Everett was the photographer and this was his passion. When Hayward Photography was well on its way to success, I decided it was time for me to pursue my passion. I went back to school for Interior Design, and in 2006 I started my own design firm.

I love what I do and I love the opportunity to create beautiful spaces for my clients. I think of interior design as a giant puzzle. I get to fit all the pieces together to form the perfect space, and I get to meet some of the nicest people along the way! Whether it is commercial or residential, it’s all about great communication, working together and creating something beautiful.

Jillian Hayward Schaible

Boston and Cape Cod Interior Design - Jillian Hayward Schaible

Much like Susan, I took a very unconventional path to becoming a designer.  My husband is a helicopter pilot for the US Navy, so it took me a few moves and career changes before I was finally able to find this career that I love and that works for our lifestyle.

I attended Boston University where I received my BA in Marine Science and a Minor in French Language and Literature.  After graduation, I moved to Florida where I worked for some time as a zoo keeper, before ultimately moving to San Diego where we live now.

For a few years, I had been working part time with my mom to help with her growing interior design business.  Not only did I love working with my best friend, but I loved what we were able to create for our clients.  I finally decided to enroll in an Interior Design program and commit to a new career that I loved, and was far better suited for this unpredictable military life.

I love being able to work with our clients to help them visualize and achieve the spaces they envision, with both beauty and practicality.  As a military spouse, I understand how important it is to really make your home feel like home.  Being able to help clients achieve that feeling is one of the greatest rewards of this job, and why I love what I do!
