Market Trends: Looks We Love!

A few weeks ago, we went down to High Point, North Carolina for the design market to see some of our favorite lines display their newest collections.  Usually, we leave with so many inspiring new ideas that it takes a few days to decompress and sort through all the wonderful pieces we saw.

This year, however, we just can’t stop thinking about all of the amazing colors on display at every showroom.  High Point was fully in bloom with some of the brightest, crispest, and most vibrant colors I’ve seen to date.  It seemed for a bit there that muted tones were really taking over, but now the biggest trend looking forward are these stunning, show-stopping hues… and we couldn’t be more excited about it!

We’ve put together a list of some of our favorite on-trend pieces, and we hope you enjoy them as much we do!

Our Favorite Spring Tablescapes for 2017

My 2 least favorite months of the year are February and March.  I’m tired of the cold, sick of my winter tablescapes, and generally feeling gloomy.  Starting to “dewinterize” the house perks me up, and one of the easiest to do is the table.

I love the soft pastels, vivd greens, flora, and fauna that come along with warmer weather and lots of sunshine.  So, with one foot still in winter and one on its way into spring, you’ll find all of these things in my favorite Springtime tabletops!

Whether you’re gathering ideas for your own table decor or just enjoy seeing all of these lively designs, we hope you enjoy our gorgeous collection of Spring tables capes as much as we do!

Flower Power

Maybe it’s because it’s summer and there are flowers everywhere,  I don’t know… but I’m seeing flowers in a whole new way right now.  We’ve written floral blogs before, but the flowers have never been as creative and realistic as the florals we’re currently seeing.

Take this gorgeous wall covering-  look at those flowers!  Yes, it’s bright, but a little goes a long way.  Take a little powder room to a whole new level.. .or bring back the accent wall in a fresh, new way!

Okay, we’ve all seen pillows shaped like flowers but this one is really a flower, petals and all!

When I first saw this pouf, I just wanted to plop down and see if it was as “smushy” as it looks.  I can’t wait to go to AmericasMart in July and head for the Global Views showroom to try it out!

I look forward to Lily Pulitzer’s new prints every year.  They just scream “summer fun”, and are sure to brighten any bedroom decor!  To add floral accents to your existing bedding, mix and match some throw pillows like these ones from Cyan Design and Pier 1 Imports-  they would be perfect on your bed or even on the couch!

Color Feature: TURQUOISE

Perfect for the many sunny days ahead, TURQUOISE is a color that we are absolutely loving for spring and summer design.  Not only is turquoise one of my PERSONAL favorites, it is such a refreshing color to incorporate into any home!

Waterfall by Benjamin Moore

Waterfall by Benjamin Moore

For example, Waterfall by Benjamin Moore is a beautiful paint that you can use to instantly brighten any room of the house.  Without being too bright or bold, “Waterfall” is a perfectly subtle shade that will bring your living space back to life!
This gorgeous “Beach Style Chandelier” by  Orange County Artists & Artisans KOUBOO is our pick for that “beachy” look you’ll want this season!  The turquoise colored shells mixed with a bit of white trim makes this chandelier simple, yet fun!
If you want to add a back splash to your wall, consider this tile by Lakewood Tile, Stone & Countertops Glass Tile Oasis.  The many different shades of turquoise stones in this gorgeous back splash would look amazing in your kitchen or bathroom… Especially over this sink by Valley Center Furniture & Accessories BuilderDepot, Inc.
