Holiday Gift Guide: FOR THE HOST

Every year, we put together lists of our favorite gift items for the season- and this year, we are SO excited with what we’ve found!

One of the first people you may find on your list are hostess gifts for those holiday parties that will surely begin before you know it.  We even like to keep a few in our closet, just in case you find yourself at a party last minute.  One thing you definitely don’t want to do is show up empty handed, and what host wouldn’t LOVE any of these gifts?!

These disco ball drink cups might just be my favorite item on the list.  What a fun, festive way to treat your guests- with their favorite holiday cocktail hidden inside!

One of my favorite gifts to ever receive was a box full of my friends’ and family’s favorite recipes.  Whether you fill it with your own recipes, or leave the cards open for your host to fill, this is sure to be a huge hit for the host who loves to cook, or a great gift for a new couple!

Holiday Gifts For The Pet Lover

When I go visit my daughter in California, I can barely get my bags in the door before Rocco starts snooping around for the presents Grandma always brings!  We love our furry family members so much, that there is sure to be someone in your life who loves theirs too… and what a perfect opportunity for a gift idea.  We’ve compiled a few Rocco-approved ideas for the pet lovers on your list, so you know your gift will be a hit!

Here’s one of our favorites this year- Rocco got a generous gift from Kinn, Inc. to try out their Kangaroo leash and we just loved it!  With a cozy soft handle, the Kangaroo collar and leash set will be the perfect give for both your friend AND their pup.  Not to mention it has a bag pouch attached- so handy!

When Rocco was crate training, one of the biggest challenges was finding a good place for his crate, as it just looked so out of place in any room.  To add a little flare (and privacy) for that pup, try a stylish crate cover like this one.

Gifts for Your Thanksgiving Hostess

For those of us lucky enough to be going to their family/friends’ home for Thanksgiving, it’s nice to have a little something to bring for your hostess that’s not your usual bottle of wine (although that’s always welcome!).  Think small and easy.  Fresh flowers are beautiful, but unless they are in a container ready for display, they require the hostess to stop and find a vase, cut the stems, and arrange… just one more thing to do on a busy day.  Here are some small, easy-to-wrap gifts.  Or perhaps you can incorporate the napkins, wine dish, or knives into a dish you’re bringing!

Whatever you bring for your hostess, remember that it’s the thought that counts!  So bring a smile and a helpful hand (maybe with a little something special in it)!

Holiday Gift Guide, Day 4: For the Beach Bum

I love coastal-inspired design.  Even in the middle of a New England winter, seeing something that reminds me of the ocean brings home a little summer.  Here are some ideas for your beach-loving family and friends.

Yes, we’ve all seen the beachy wreath.  I love this one because of the uniqueness of the driftwood, so no two are alike.   For a little more one-of-a-kind design, try these fun, brightly colored, picket fence fishes.

Holiday Gift Guide, Day 3: For the Free Spirit

Don’t you have someone special in your life that is the free spirit whom you go to for a little advice or inspiration?   They seem so worldly in their views on life, and are almost philosophical in their delivery.  Their homes are eclectic.  Even if they never venture out of their hometown, they seem to have such a global style in their house.  Here’s our take on home decor gifts for the free spirit in your life!

Holiday Gift Guide, Day 2: For the Gardener

Day 2 of our Holiday Gift Guide is dedicated to the gardeners in your life – those family or friends that you know you can always find outdoors with their hands in the dirt!  At some point they have to come indoors, and when they do, help them make their indoors as “garden beautiful” as their outdoor oasis.

I love the neutral green of these pillows.  I think they would go with just about anything!  And don’t they just make you feel like you’re outside?
